  • Tele-work: Business and Social Benefits - Craig Lee.

    BIO: Craig Lee, Member, Board of Directors, Canadian Telework Association, is the Communications Director for the Canadian Transportation Agency in Ottawa. He has been involved with telework for more than 10 years, beginning with communications for the first Canadian Public Service telework pilot project and, later, the overall Government of Canada Telework Policy announcement.Mr. Lee has worked for the Government of Canada in Ottawa, Toronto and Vancouver. A current and former teleworker himself, Mr. Lee has revised articles for publication on telework for many years. Four of Mr. Lee's nine employees currently telework (work from home) part time. He has also conducted research, provided communications advice and acted as a media spokesperson for many sensitive Government of Canada issues, including a major Public Service strike. A former Public Affairs manager for the Canadian Coast Guard, Mr. Lee has extensive experience in the development, application and evaluation of communications strategies related to major Canadian government programs and initiatives, many of which were controversial. Mr. Lee has presented plans and strategies and briefed Cabinet Ministers (including ministers responsible for Treasury Board, Transport, Industry, Fitness and Youth). High profile events at which Mr. Lee managed communications include Coast Guard search-and-rescue operations and at the Fifth International Conference on AIDS in Montréal, which attracted 1,500 journalists from around the world. Mr. Lee has a Bachelor of Arts degree from Carleton University in Ottawa in Political Science and History. Mr. Lee is fluently bilingual.

  • Economic Impact Measurements - Michael Curri

    BIO: Michael Curri, President/Founder, Strategic Network Group, has since the mid-'90's been working on connectedness initiatives across Canada, developing IT related funding models and project implementation. He has specialized in evaluating IT investment options and developing projects that both deliver results and are sustainable for clients. Prior to founding the consultancy Strategic Networks Group, Mr. Curri spent over four years as a consultant to Industry Canada in Ottawa. Mr. Curri has also instructed at St. Lawrence College teaching Management Information Systems and Systems Analysis.

    BIO: Tom Willis, Industry Manager, Bell Canada, has spent 35 years in the IS/IT industry with IBM and Bell Canada. Tom Willis is currently an e.Business Consultant with Bell Canada. Mr. Willis works with Bell Canada customers on complex projects to provide end-to-end solutions. His focus is the development and implementation of Internet based solutions that provide Content and Commerce services over Bell Canada's extensive network. An essential element of assisting customers is the direct translation of their business goals and strategies into opportunities that can be achieved through technology solutions. Bell Canada uses a simplified consulting process to quickly identify customer needs and goals and appropriate solutions. The process gives the customer direct control over the results of the consulting process to ensure they are comfortable that the benefits identified can be met.
