KANnet Smart Teams Competition

KANnet has initiated a Smart Teams Competition for high school students. Participating students can increase their skills in applying technologies to their own interests, while contributing to their communities. Students may apply for an award in the following categories:
· Business
· Social Sciences
· Arts & Humanities
· Science & Technology
· Social Services/Volunteerism

Prizes will be awarded to the best student projects in each category. In addition, the projects will be showcased to the world by being highlighted on the community web-portal.

Teams should consist of up to three students (larger teams should get special permission from KANnet). Each team is invited to submit a project plan by October 31, 2001. All plans that meet the criteria and have a teacher's approval will be considered.
They will be reviewed for completeness and feedback provided where it is warranted. Completed projects must be received by January 21, 2002. A panel of judges will review the submissions and select the Award Recipients before the end of February.
